Halloween

You think I would have tried to catch up blogging while being on bed rest with hardly anything to do, but nope, I like to make life hard and play catch up with 2 newborns and a toddler.

I LOVE making costumes. Especially when they cost me under $5.
This year we were the "Trophy Wife" and hunter.
I looked up a picture of some of Russ's "Horn Porn" (The man is obsessed with hunting and antlers)and made a nice little set of my own. I was so proud and excited to show him when he got home...from hunting of course.
If only I hadn't made them so heavy so they would stay on my tiny headband.
He of course critiqued them, we made some changes and we were ready for Halloween!

Lila creating her own little masterpiece while I painted my antlers.
We go all out at our house with TWO colors for her to chose from...haha. Poor girl has a nice set of jumbo crayons now.

Let me take you back to Halloween- 2005. I was up to school at Utah State University and most of my high school friends stayed in the Salt Lake Valley. My friend was invited to a Halloween party from some guys she met at the U of U. So we get all dressed up- They were snowboarder chicks, and I of course, was Mrs Piggy- Im talking pig snout, huge pink tutu, pearls and the nastiest wig you've ever seen.
We walk into this party- of course fashionably late...and its not a dress up party :(
So, my friends slip off their snowboarding pants, and I am left as Ms Piggy. It turns out they had all just come from a football game so no one was dressed up.
Because of this embarrassing moment, I am always scared when I wake up Halloween morning and get ready haha!
So to err on the side of caution and not show up to work looking like a buck, I did my make up in my cube once I saw it was in fact, Halloween just like the Calendar said.

If that is not the hottest hunter you have ever seen I don't know who is.
He was doubling it up this year and doing something else with his department that required a goatee and I quite liked it.

And you cant forget our cute little skunk!!

One of my co workers went up to her and mooed so I guess she looked more like a cow, but CUTE nonetheless.

Curiosity Museum

Im blogging about 6 months behind, but Im determined to get caught up!
I cant believe how much Lila has changed in just 6 months. Its sad how fast time goes and how much they change!
Just before Halloween we had a girls day out with my Mom and sister and our kiddos.
I remember feeling not that great, and a tich moody, but I still packed Lila up and met up for lunch. We were going to go to the Childrens museum after, but right at the end of lunch, Lila spilled her almost full bowl of Wisconsin Cauliflower soup all down the front of me.
I just wanted to go home and call it a day but they talked me in to going and Im so glad I did.
I thought Lila would be too young to enjoy anything but she had a blast, and I honestly think I had more fun than her haha! I mean helloooo, they have a zip line on the playground!

They really did have fun things for babies to do too!

I put Lila in here to play in the sand and some little boy tattle tailed on me :)

Grandmas are the best!

Making some music...

And the girls and I did a little tap dancing. Took me back to when I was 8 and tap danced at C & C Ballet. Weirdly I was super shy back in the day and was down right terrified to perform my monkey dance from the Jungle Book, but fortunately/ unfortunately for Russ, my shyness is gone and I was rocking that tap floor ;)
Smelling like old Wisconsin Cauliflower soup did not slow me down- Im sure I was sweating the smell of old cheese.

When you feel it, you feel it.

We may have been too confident in her sliding skills- she clung on for dear life before landing safely on wood chips- oops- you live and you learn.

After, we had delicious frozen yogurt.
I have no idea why Lila isn't wearing shoes in any of these pictures haha.
She loves her CC.

The big Reveal

My aunt had her usual Fall Harvest party in her back yard.
Everyone is assigned a fruit or vegetable and you have to bring a dish with whatever food you were assigned.
Its one of my favorite times of year. I love sitting around the fire pits on hay stacks, awesome music playing, and the lights hung in the trees. I always feel like its out of a magazine with how beautiful her yard is. She makes pottery for a living and has a beautiful studio in her backyard that she opens up for all the food.
Its also the time we made our big reveal...well kind of. There was a lot going on and I wanted my dad to make it since its all his sister and he was so proud. But Lila had had it by the time he made the announcement and we weren't even there :)

Russ had been hunting and was able to come last minute. Such a fun surprise seeing him come around the house.

Cousins and good food!

We had taken picture of Lila earlier to make the announcement elsewhere.
We used twin babies that I had growing up! When I was little, I renamed myself Megan, and named my babies Chelsea and Kelsey :)

NELSON TWINS COMING APRIL 2015!

Because this is a fall post- I have blog this picture. Lila and I took a date to Maceys to eat yummy fall donuts. Love my donut date!
